Timpisi Coal washing Plant management intended to implement a sustainable storm water and pollution control system on site to mitigate and/or reduce the impact of mine operations on the environment.
Zanecebo Consulting Engineers and Project Managers provided the following services:
- Storm water and water management plan: Proposed the plan entails three HDPE lined earth dams, concrete lined storm water channels, open concrete slabs for material storage and earth berms for storm water control.
- Water use and conservation plan: storm and operations water reticulation and management.
- Water balance
- Preliminary designs of structures: dams, channels and reinforced concrete slabs.
- Water use licence (WUL) application
- Proposed method of supplying water to the plant and costing

Project: 10000 cubic meter Brakfontein Surface Dam
Location: Bokoni Platinum Mine, Limpopo Province

Structural design and detailing of a 19m x 19m reinforced concrete base for a water retaining tank. The base slab entails 800mm deep perimeter walls and 800mm high, 15m diameter internal walls for the actual steel tank, supplied by others.
